Carat Waterfalls Bali Indonesia (Air Terjun Ceret Bali Indonesia)
Carat Waterfalls are located close to an unspoiled village called “Tamblang” in the Singaraja regency, about 85km from Denpasar. The trip to Carat Waterfalls from Jimbaran or Nusa Dua can take about 3 – 3 ½ hours, depending on the traffic!
The roughly 800 meter long path to Carat Waterfalls is the most adventurous one as you have to manage a Bamboo Bridge and some steep cliffs to arrive at both of the waterfalls. The trek takes about 10 minutes and shouldn’t be attempted by families with kids as it is too dangerous for children.
The pool below the smaller fall, which is about 4 meters in height , is not very deep. It is the perfect place to cool down and splash around. To reach the pool of the bigger fall, it is highly recommended to use a local guide. The cliffs are steep and it is extremely dangerous to go there on your own.
Legend says that Carat or Ceret Waterfalls are haunted and bad luck will be brought to those visitors which mention bad things about the waterfalls or those who do things that have a negative environmental impact to its surroundings.
Tip 1: Don't forget to bring your trainers, swimmwear and towels.
Additional Information 1: The pipes you see along the path supply fresh water to nearby local villages.
